CinchFit Sheets — Frequently Asked Questions

CinchFit Sheets — Frequently Asked Questions

CinchFit sheets solve a problem that standard sheets can't — staying on mattresses that don't fit standard sizes. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.

About CinchFit Sheets

What makes CinchFit sheets different from regular fitted sheets?

CinchFit sheets feature a patented cinching system that allows the sheet to be tightened and secured around your mattress — regardless of its exact dimensions. Unlike standard fitted sheets that rely on a fixed pocket depth and elastic, CinchFit sheets cinch down to fit, which means they stay on all night without popping off corners or bunching up.

Do I need custom sheets for my boat, RV, or non-standard mattress?

Almost certainly not. This is the question we get asked most often — and the answer is almost always no. CinchFit sheets fit 99% of all mattresses without any custom ordering. Whether you have a boat berth, RV mattress, bunk bed, daybed, or oddly-sized home mattress, our size calculator will match you to a standard CinchFit size that fits perfectly. Custom ordering is rarely needed and significantly more expensive — save your money and use the calculator first.

How does the cinching system actually work?

Each CinchFit sheet has a drawstring-style cinching cord that runs along the underside of the mattress. Once the sheet is on, you pull the cord to cinch the fabric snugly around your mattress — similar to a drawstring bag. The result is a sheet that stays put no matter how much you move, even on oddly shaped or tapered mattresses like V Berths.

Sizing & Fit

How do I know which CinchFit size to order?

Use one of our free size calculators — just enter your mattress width, length, and depth and we'll match you instantly:

What depth options are available?

CinchFit sheets are available in three depth tiers:

  • 9" Depth — fits mattresses up to 9" deep. Great for standard boat and RV mattresses.
  • 15" Depth — fits mattresses up to 15" deep. Ideal for thicker home mattresses, pillow tops, and RV upgrades.
  • Shallow Pocket (9" and 15") — designed for low-profile mattresses where standard sheets are too loose. Available for home use.

What if my mattress is between sizes?

Always size up. CinchFit sheets are designed to cinch down to fit smaller mattresses within their range, so a slightly larger sheet will still fit perfectly once cinched. Our size calculators automatically account for this and will always recommend the correct size.

Can CinchFit sheets fit a tapered V Berth mattress?

Yes — this is one of CinchFit's biggest strengths. V Berth mattresses have a triangular tapered shape that standard sheets can't accommodate. CinchFit V Berth sheets are specifically designed for this shape and are available in Universal and Universal XL sizes to fit the vast majority of V Berth cabins. Use our Boat Sheet Size Calculator to find your size.

Boat & RV Use

Will CinchFit sheets work on my specific boat?

Almost certainly yes. CinchFit sheets are designed to fit the full range of boat mattress sizes — from small quarter berths to large island berths and V Berths. Use our Boat Sheet Size Calculator and enter your mattress measurements. If you're unsure how to measure, contact us and we'll help.

What RV mattress sizes do CinchFit sheets cover?

CinchFit RV sheets cover all common RV sizes including Short Queen, RV King, RV 3/4 Full, Full, Twin, Twin XL, and Queen. Use our RV Sheet Size Calculator to find your exact match.

My RV or boat has a really unusual mattress size. Will CinchFit still work?

In most cases, yes. The cinching system gives CinchFit sheets a wider fit range than standard sheets. If you're unsure, enter your exact measurements into the calculator — or reach out to us and we'll tell you exactly which size to order.

Fabric & Care

What fabrics are CinchFit sheets available in?

CinchFit sheets are available in several fabric options to suit different climates and preferences:

  • 400TC 100% Cotton — crisp, breathable, and durable. A great all-around choice.
  • 600TC 100% Cotton — softer and more luxurious, ideal for home and upscale boat cabins.
  • Flannel 100% Cotton — warm and cozy, perfect for cooler climates or winter use.
  • Patterned options — including Cape Stripe, Pinstripe, and Polka Dot in select sizes.

Are CinchFit sheets American made?

Yes — CinchFit sheets are proudly American made.

How do I wash CinchFit sheets?

Machine wash warm, tumble dry low. We recommend washing before first use. Avoid bleach and high heat to preserve the fabric and cinching system.
